Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information LetsRead may collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. LetsRead is a local physical book-sharing app — not an e-reader and not a shipping marketplace.
1. Who we are
LetsRead is provided by York Stream Technologies Limited. For privacy questions, contact us via the in-app support options or the channels listed on Google Play / the App Store.
2. Information we may collect
- Account details — such as name, email, and profile information you provide when you register.
- Listings you create — book title, author, photos, category, price (free or paid), captions, and optional Voice Capsules you record.
- Messages — chat content you send to arrange a local handoff.
- Location-related data — approximate or precise location (with permission) so “Nearby” and distance sorting can work.
- Device and usage data — such as app version, language preference, crash logs, and basic analytics needed to keep the service reliable.
Guest browsing may be available with limited features; chat and some actions require an account.
3. How we use information
- To operate LetsRead: listings, search, nearby discovery, and chat.
- To show your Voice Capsule and listing details to other users.
- To improve performance, fix bugs, and understand feature use.
- To communicate about the service (e.g. important account notices).
- To comply with law and protect the safety and integrity of the community.
4. Sharing
Listing content, profile details you choose to show, and Voice Capsules are visible to other LetsRead users as part of the product. We do not sell your personal information. We may use trusted processors (for example hosting, analytics, crash reporting, or push notifications) who process data only to provide services to us, under appropriate agreements.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of LetsRead.
5. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, including while your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for backups, disputes, or legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data subject to residual legal or operational limits.
6. Your choices and rights
- Update profile and listing information in the app.
- Control location permission in your device settings.
- Request access, correction, or deletion of personal data where applicable (including under GDPR if you are in the EEA/UK).
- Stop using the app and request account closure.
7. Children
LetsRead is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong password and protect your device.
9. International users
LetsRead is offered with a primary focus on readers in Lithuania (including Vilnius) and nearby regions, and may be used elsewhere. Data may be processed in countries where we or our processors operate, with safeguards as required by applicable law.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, when changes are material, provide additional notice in the app or on this site.
